March Mood

Happy March lovelies! It's been a whirlwind of a year so far. For some reason, January seemed to drag on super slowly and February felt like the blink of an eye. So far, March seems to have struck a happy medium between the two but there's A LOT going on right now. Some of the tasks on my plate are work-related (peak wedding season, lots of fun contributions, piles of emails to answer) and there's also some fun things happening at home (plans for summer vacation, navigating first grade, etc.).

I can always count on the images I'm pinning to morph themselves into a little time capsule of what I'm thinking/feeling/loving lately and this month is no different. Looks like I'm drawn to salmon-y pink, warm-weather attitude and mommy snuggles right now... and I'm totally okay with that! What are you inspired by this month?

10 Things...

Hello hello! As this (crazy) week comes to an end, it just felt right to share the things that I'm loving right now.

1. You can now stay in Serena Mitnik-Miller's San Francisco home! Serena is responsible for some of my favorite spaces in the world to ogle at online (I'm constantly pinning design inspiration from General Store and I shared a home tour of her Topanga Canyon space here) and I'm already planning to rent out the SF city spot for a portion of this Summer's vacay!

2. Coming off of an incredibly informative and reflective Black History Month, this article on Man Repeller was a great read! 13 Black Women on Finding Joy.

3. I'm going NUTS for the series of feminist video clips by Vogue Magazine (to the tune of Carly Simon's 'You're So Vain'). With a nod to women's rights activism and the sexual revolution, Vogue's instagram chronicles the newest collections in style. I'm obsessed with the clips featuring Jean Campbell, Grace Elizabeth, Paris Jackson and Yasmin Geurts but they're ALL. SO. GOOD.

4. Leave it to my sweet friend Natalie to hit the nail on the head with her description of the importance of collaborating and eliminating competition. Her thoughts are worth a read for anyone in the creative industry or women looking to support other women in general.

5. Lately I can't get enough of the Full Actor Roundtable videos by the Hollywood Reporter! I usually play them in the background while I'm working and this one with Saoirse Ronan, Jennifer Lawrence and Mary J Blige is EXCELLENT.

6. My sister turned me on to @tasteofstreep and it's a hilarious bright spot in my day recently!

7. Lately I've been really missing all things Oprah... I've always found her so comforting and inspiring and since we don't get cable on this tiny island, I haven't been able to tune into the Own network at all. This week I found myself re-watching old interviews and this one is pure gold! So many wise stories and bits of advice!

8. Some amazing looks from Madewell! Give me all the coveralls and muted pastels please.

9. A collection of dreamy, inspiring polaroids by lina Scheynius.

10. And finally, I've been loving contributing to SF Girl By Bay lately. See my posts from this week here and here.

What's on your mind this week?

Can you believe it's already March?! Where is this year going? This past week has been particularly crazy (more on that later) and I'm pretty excited to be welcoming a new month. Big things have been happening around here and there are a few very exciting projects starting to take shape. While there's not a ton happening on the blog right now, know that there are things coming up and you can always find me at Glitter Guide and SF Girl By Bay in the meantime.

I've found making a new soundtrack each month to be super fun lately. It's so nice to listen to the same songs all month and then revisit them later to spark those same feelings and memories. I'll always be able to remember exactly what I was going through once these songs come on. This month's mix has a ton of surf rock and some cool covers of oldies I can't stop listening to. Here's to March!
