Be Mine

Happy Valentine's Day my pretties! I'm such a sucker for this holiday and we've got big simple but fabulous plans for today. I've commissioned my man to build an extra plush and comfy living room fort, bought the vino (Middle Sister's Sweetie Pie... holla!), readied the chocolates & queued up the movie rentals. I've got Mr. Jackson's card written and set aside (the inside says 'head over heels for you' which is totally me!) and my super secret special project is finally done and on its way. I hope you have an amazing day full of snuggles (and a virtual one from me!).

Pink & red is a trend I've been seeing for over a year but I finally decided to try it this Valentine's Day (I mean, why not?) and am now kicking myself for not rocking this combo sooner. I love how unexpected but totally fresh it is. It's offically Spring in central Florida and we've gone straight from winter chills to April showers. This VS umbrella could not have been more perfect today, I felt so festive! I have a confession to make, I may or may not have purchased $80 worth of undies last year just so I could snag this gift with purchase... oops.

Chelsea & The City: New York Edition

I'm a New Yorker at heart! I love the hustle and bustle of the city and if I could pick one place in the world to spend the rest of my days it would be The Big Apple, hands down. There are so many different things to do in the five boroughs and style there is impeccable. Want to wear something totally crazy? Nobody cares! They'll love you all the more for it. I love that there are no style rules in New York. My favorite stylish big city girls? Olivia Palermo, Leandra Medine aka The Man Repeller, Carrie Bradshaw (hello lovah!) & Blaire Eadie of Atlantic-Pacific.

My perfect New York look? A little city attitude with leather pants and an edgy on-trend peplum, a pair of cat-eye sunnies reminiscent of Holly Golightly, stunning jewels, a little leopard and pavement pounding pumps!

Who else is completely heartbroken to have missed NYFW?

Color has never been my thing. For the last couple of years I lived in a black, white and beige comfort zone, never straying far from what I knew worked. This year I'm making it a point to venture into the world of color and so far I'm loving it! Teal? Mint? Navy? Bring it on, all at once! I'm loving the studded detail on these pants, it's such an unexpected twist on a classic piece. What is your favorite color to wear?

p.s. The Prabal Gurung for Target collection came out today and I scored big! Be on the lookout for some crazy florals, beautiful faux leather detail and printed pumps on the blog soon.
