Prabal Gurung x Target

dress: prabal gurung for target | heels: prabal gurung for target | bag: louis vuitton | bracelet: j crew | watch: vintage gucci | rings: forever 21 (similar), h&m (similar)

I was so pleasantly surprised by the much awaited Prabal Gurung and Target collaboration last week. Coming off of the less-than-successful Neiman Marcus x Target holiday selection (I heard some designers requested their merchandise be destroyed rather than get marked down any lower) it was a little iffy whether or not I'd actually like the pieces in person. However, I ventured to my nearest store as soon as I opened by eyes this past Sunday and was thrilled by the items I found! I brought at least eight things into the dressing room and each was cuter and more flattering than the one before. I ended up grabbing two dresses, this fabulous pair of court shoes and two shirts!

I fully intended on styling this nightshirt-esque dress a little more but realized (after trying three different belts and a dozen different layers) that it was so beautifully made it should be allowed to shine on its own. I love the 'matchy-matchy' heels and dress and a ten year old stopped me at Sams Club today and said, "Your dress matches your shirt! Girl, those are ca-yoot," so I knew she was feeling the look too.

How did you feel about Target's newest designer collaboration?

Chelsea & The City on Instagram: Valentine's Day Edition
Valentine's Day was pretty low-key around here but I did manage to capture a few snapshots during the festivities! We had a leisurely morning (Lo and I slept until noon), got dressed despite the drizzle and exchanged sweet cards (how cute is the card Mr. Jackson picked for me, complete with a fort and two wine glasses?). After Lorelai opened presents from Mommy & Daddy we piled into the car and set out to explore one of Gainesville's nicer neighborhoods. We stopped by the cutest cupcakery (Patti Cakes in Haile Plantation) and picked out our favorite flavors (the honey-grapefruit was amazing!). We made wishes in the fountain and decided to grab a chill dinner at our favorite sushi spot. Full and sleepy, we made our way home, assembled a bedroom fort and had a romantic night watched Tangled as a family.

We hope you had an amazing Valentine's week and an even better long weekend!

Happy Friday! + weekly roundup

I hope you all had a fabulous and lovely Valentine's Day! Now that the holiday madness has passed I'm looking forward to a little reprieve between gift-buying/making occasions (it's so hard to find the perfect gift sometimes!) and starting to plan something very special (in my head). Hopefully we'll get in some quality time this Saturday & Sunday (Mr. Jackson started a new internship this week so we're starting to miss having him around all the time). I hope this weekend brings you a little leftover holiday affection and plenty of sparkly trinkets!

Here's what I saw and loved this week:

Erika Bearman on The Coveteur and this amazing oscarprgirl / Boaz Mazor interview
the most stylish sneak peek at The Manrepeller aka Leandra Medine's new clothing line
a fab presentation of J Crew fall/winter 2013 at NYFW
The Pink Peonies does Central Park in style

& a new about me for Chelsea & The City!
