Happy Friday! + weekly roundup

Happy Friday, the weekend is finally here! This week has been mainly uneventful, with the exception of a few surprise blog projects creeping up at the last minute and Mr. Jackson scoring a second job, woohoo! Over the weekend I'm hoping to say thank you to life for being so sweet lately and celebrate St. Patty's with a shamrock shake. I hope this weekend leaves you a little time for dancing in the street Man Repeller style. Here's what I've been loving on the web:

E!'s Cat Sadler shares her home on The Glitter Guide and blows me away
the coolest ways to style your spring jacket via the Everygirl
an inspiring 5 year anniversary post over on Cupcakes & Cashmere
Kaylee debuts her brand new blog with a bang (aka the sweetest outfit post)
& this post over at Oh Joy! reminding me it's okay to try out hobbies and move on when they're not a good fit

Kiss Me I'm... Halfcork'd

dress: zara (wanting this one) | sweater: forever 21 (similar) | metallic heels: target | clutch: h&m (LOVE this one) | necklace: bebe (similar) | bracelets: j crew, tiffany & co

Happy (early) St. Patty's Day, my lovelies! When I was younger (and even now, who am I kidding?), I looked forward to wearing a hint of green to avoid being pinched at school. I would usually shamrock an emerald accessory but now that I'm an adult I've adopted a 'go big or go home' attitude and what better time to try out the emerald and mint combo (I blogged about it last weekend!) that I've been obsessing over lately?! This green Zara dress made a cool and casual skirt and since the look didn't have much of a shape I decided to wear these fabulous mirrored heels to add some polish (Target's shoe selection is killing it lately ladies, don't sleep on it!).

In other news, I can't wait for Easter to get here so I can finally resume shopping! It's been fun to shop my closet and rework pieces that I already own but I've come to find that there are quite a few gaps in my wardrobe.

p.s. How cute is this downtown Gainesville company's logo?! I love finding fun and inspiring typography in unexpected places.
Having A Marilyn Moment

on me: polka dot chambray: forever 21 (similar & loving the vest version)  | dress: cotton on (similar) | heels: target (similar) | bag: fossil c/o | bracelets: thrifted (similar), j crew, forever 21 (similar)

on lorelai: dress: baby gap | shoes: baby gap

In order to avoid the inevitable cold snap that always comes when I say it, I won't tell you that it's officially Spring in central Florida(!). The flowers (or "fowers", according to Lorelai) are blooming and the weather is absolutely perfect. It's been about 70 degrees and breezy (hence my Marilyn moments) this week and although my legs are brave enough to go bare, my arms haven't yet gotten the memo.

Transitioning into Spring and not ready to wear your day dresses? Layer a shirt underneath like I did with this polka dot chambray (Lo and I totally match on accident)! The extra warmth is just enough to get you all the way to Spring and you can start pulling some of your favorite warm weather frocks out of storage.

p.s. The 7 Year Itch has always been my favorite movie! I saw it for the first time the year that my parents celebrated their 7th wedding anniversary and couldn't have been more terrified that a breathy and beautiful bombshell (Marilyn Monroe's 'The Girl' character) was going to break up my happy home. I'm pleased to report that my parents have been together for 25 years and the movie is still one of my faves!

p.p.s Lorelai was named after a different Monroe character - Lorelei Lee from Gentlemen Prefer Blondes.

"It shakes me! It quakes me! It makes me feel goose-pimply all over!"
