Happy Friday friends! This week has been utterly exhausting and I feel like I'm gearing up for a little bit of burnout. I attended Gainesville Fashion Week's opening night Thursday (and will go to at least one day of shows this weekend), dealt with car troubles and did an endless amount of errand running/housework. I also had a chance to look back on the last quarter of 2013 (OMG where is it going?! Slow down, won't ya?) and was blown away by how amazingly sweet life has been. I've made quite the commitment to Chelsea & The City this year (blogging five days a week without fail) and you guys have been so good to me! I'm beyond excited to see where the rest of the year takes us!
Here's what I've been loving this week:
The Everygirl's co-founder Alaina Kaczmarski shares her STUNNING home (seriously, I could have only shared this link and it would have been enough pretty for one week!)
a lovely April issue of Matchbook Magazine
an ode to Bottega Louie and Leah of Freutcake on Style Me Pretty Living
a first glimpse of the rockin' Great Gatsby soundtrack
& this cute outfit on Hello Fashion
Don't forget to see if you won my eShakti giveaway!
The last couple of days have been full of drizzle, not to mention a disaster for my hair! While the downpour does put a damper (pun intended) on some of the fun, I happen to love rainy days. Cozy layers, cute boots, an excuse to cuddle with loved ones all day? I'll take it. Cheery, buttery yellows help bring a little sunshine to your life and puddle-jumping wellies are a great running around shoe (trust me, you don't want to wear your heels in the rain!) for getting all of your usual errands done. If you're brave enough, grab your favorite travel guide and explore your city on a less-than-sunny day. Everything looks cleaner and a little dreamy amidst the droplets.

It's official... Central Florida has skipped Spring completely and it is HOT! Yesterday was 80 degrees and sunny so we took Lorelai to the lake for a little sun and fresh air. We spent the day catching tadpoles on the shore (until a baby gator decided to join the party and we quickly made for dry land!) and tossing the Frisbee with our mister.
I ditched the chambray at the lake (because it was THAT hot) but a quick button up was great for to-and-from and a trip to Target for some beach toys and sunscreen. I've never been much of a hat person (in fact, I think I resemble Pinocchio a little too closely in this one) but Mr. Jackson thinks it's cute and it keeps the sun out of my eyes. We'll count that as two wins!
p.s. How stunning is this Bauble Bar necklace? A big thank you to Jessica Sturdy from Bows & Sequins and Bauble Bar for this sparkly stunner! I know I'll be wearing it all Spring/Summer and I think it'll make it's evening debut at tonight's Gainesville Fashion Week event.
