White Out

shirt: j crew c/o beso | white denim: zara (similar) | heels: target | necklace: bauble bar c/o | bracelets: j crew, bip & bop c/o

This outfit was supposed to be for another Spring Style Session with Molly (like these floral and stripes features) but unfortunately, the rain had other plans. Florida weather is so unpredictable! It was nice and breezy during these snaps and storming a few hours later. Luckily, I was able to escape the downpour and spend the evening inside (there's nothing worse than an all-white outfit in the middle of Spring showers, trust me)!

White is usually a difficult color to wear (especially when you're chasing around a toddler) but it feels so fresh for Spring that I couldn't pass this look up. This blouse, which I could've gotten in a size or two smaller, is breathable and comfy without being too casual. Are you sick of seeing these shoes yet? I'm not. I've worn them everyday for over two weeks and I just can't get enough. I'm obsessed!

Do you dare to wear all white? (I may have to invest in some scotch guard!)
Feliz Cinco de Mayo!
Cinco de Mayo is such a fun holiday!  I'm in love with any excuse to snack on chips, salsa & guac and the bright colors and nod to my Mexican heritage (que Viva la Raza!) are such a blast. This Sunday I'll be slaving dancing away in the kitchen (I always make chicken enchiladas and homemade flautas for my little family) and hopefully we'll spend some time outside sipping something icy!

A peasant blouse and sarape printed shorts will keep you cool and festive and the infamous J Crew fan necklace is just kitschy enough to bring it all together. Ethnic dishes, a glam pinata and a refreshing treat (like authentic Mexican soda) will ensure that your fiesta is the chicest on the block!

* Originating in the Puebla state in Mexico to commemorate a battle, Cinco de Mayo is now celebrated in the US to honor Latin culture.

Do you have fiesta pans this weekend?

Nautical Nonsense

cami: forever 21 | striped skirt: j crew c/o beso | heels: target (similar) | hat: target | belt: j crew (similar) | necklace: bip & bop c/o | bracelets: j crew, bip & bop c/o

There are days in the sticky Florida humidity where anything more than a cami is just miserable and this was one of those days! As much as I love my cute button ups and fun layers, Summer is upon us and sometimes basics are best. An interesting striped skirt (I adore this comfy J Crew version), a fab pair of heels and a few fun accessories help to dress this look up a little. Lorelai and I spent this hot day exploring a cute neighborhood and taking turns swinging at the park in efforts to create our own breeze.

p.s. Sorry for the lack of detail shots, my camera decided mid-shoot was a nice time to die!

How do you stay chic in the heat?
