This is one of those looks I contemplated not posting on the blog. However, a few of you liked it on Facebook so I thought I'd better share the outfit details. Mr. Jackson and I sneaked out for a Sunday matinee a few weeks ago (we saw The Great and Powerful Oz) and this dress is one of the pieces in my current rotation that is both comfy AND a bit put together. The cotton makes it feel like PJs (I could wear it everyday!) and the funky mirrored floral seemed fitting for a trip to Oz. The mint tweed jacket brought out the pastels in the pattern and I'm excited to see what it looks like when I swap it for a pop of bright pink!

p.s. Sorry for the almost peep show, the wind really picks up that little ruffle!

I love the cool vibes Palm Springs gives off. It's quirky and vintage-y with a splash of cheek and a heaping scoop of color! With temperatures rising I can't help but long for a desert retreat complete with pool swans and lawn flamingos. A few palm trees wouldn't hurt and Palm Springs has them in spades (obviously)! I would spend my days soaking up the sun, sipping colorful cocktails and doing the twist poolside.

The perfect touches for a weekend getaway to Palm Springs? A few fun retro suits (a girls gotta have options!), anything with a banana leaf print and a fabulous recipe for jalapeno margaritas! Throw on a chic cover-up, toss everything into your favorite tote and you're set. I'll see you by the pool!

Happy weekend lovelies! This was a big week for my little family (Lorelai and I started co-op "play dates/school") and I'm so grateful for the arrival of the weekend because this momma is exhausted! Co-op is basically code for "come teach your own kid and spend the wee hours of the morning doing tiring things like taking a dip in the giant foam-block pool, oh yeah, and you pay. okay?" but Lo had a blast and is so excited for her second class on Saturday. I hope you get to spend some time with your family this weekend!
