I know I always say this, but I don't think I've been this excited for a collection of J Crew new arrivals EVER! As you know, I've been obsessed with blue and white lately and pattern mixing has made itself a home inside my heart. The pops of black and white, Mexican inspired blouses and wide variety of shorts are perfect for Summer (can you believe it's almost June?!) and I can't wait to pick up a few of these pieces.

Last Saturday, Mr. Jackson called me from work and asked, "Do you want to get out of town for the rest of the weekend?" As soon as he was done for the day we loaded up our little family and set out for Orlando. Although is was 99 degrees (OMG, what?!), we had a blast exploring, window shopping at a couple of superior malls (the mall in our hometown is seriously limited!) and taking Lorelai to downtown Disney. 

The road-trip is pretty short (2 hours on a day with no traffic) so excessive packing is useless but I always need a couple of things to keep me occupied while my mister is driving. He is, of course, the designated family chauffeur! Along with the usual overnight culprits (clothes, pajamas, beauty products...) I manage to squeeze in some reading material, sunnies, my phone loaded with entertaining apps and a blank notepad just in case inspiration strikes on the highway.

I've become completely obsessed with navy and white lately (check out my crazy color-coded dressing room last week)! I've never really been a blue lover but something about Summer 2013 is just begging for the classic combo. Aside from the wrinkles (OMG the obsessive compulsive housewife in me is dying right now), this shirt is quickly becoming one of my faves. I love how easy it is to throw on and I'm always down for a little bit of Mexican inspiration! Mr. Jackson has taken to calling it my 'mommy shirt', which I've yet to classify as insulting or not. As far as moms go, I'd like to think I'm not too mommy-ish!
