Blogger Favorites: See Shop Eat Do

I came across Whitney's blog, See Shop Eat Do, quite a while ago (she's been leaving me sweet comments from the start) and am so glad that I did! Her coastal-cool style is to die for and this girl puts together basics like nobody's business. Not only is she stylish, Whitney always has something witty or useful to add to each post and following along is truly a pleasure. If you haven't checked out her blog, stop by and say hi!

Summer Stripes

on me: dress: asos | heels: target | bracelet: j crew | belt: j crew (dying for this one!) | sunnies: forever 21 (old)

on lorelai: blouse: old navy | shorts: baby gap (similar) | sandals: old navy (similar)

Living in a college town, we attend a lot of graduation ceremonies and celebrations. Over the weekend Lorelai and I went to a casual grad-lunch for one of our little family's close friends. With the Summer heat still going strong, a breathable cotton dress (in my favorite print of the moment... stripes!) is just about as dressed up as this girl is getting. This Asos frock, which I saw on Kristin from Seersucker + Saddles and IMMEDIATELY purchased, is perfect for any occasion at which there will be grandmas present... check out the ladylike length and semi-high neckline!

p.s. I just can't get enough of stripes lately! Today I may or may not have brought 8 different striped items into the dressing room... #sorryimnotsorry

p.p.s. We're still working on Lo's "cheese" face. It was 96 degrees out when we took these photos, so hers is the face of heatstroke.

Saturday Style: Playground Chic

Most Saturdays you can find us at the park... We love to pack a picnic lunch, venture to the nearest swing-set and soak up those weekend rays! The park is one of my favorite places to spend quality momma time with Lo. She has so much fun getting all of her extra energy out (trust me, this little girl is 50% joy and 50% energy) and, if we're lucky and there's a gate/fence, I get to enjoy a little downtime in the sunshine!

I like to dress Lorelai in mini versions of my favorite pieces (OMG, a tiny chambray?! I'm dying!) and I often find myself in grown-up versions of little girl staples (overalls and rompers anyone?). It's like a fun, fashion Freaky Friday... err, Freaky Saturday!

Last week I picked up Jessica Alba's The Honest Life and read it cover to cover the moment I got home. There are so many great tips and inspiring images (girl's got major mommy style: examples here, here & here). I definitely recommend checking it out!
