Q & A

Last week Kate asked me to participate in a fun little q & a game! Since I've been wracking my blogger brain to come up with ways to get a little more personal, I thought it'd be fun to share a few interesting (you be the judge) tidbits. I'll be honest, this post was a doozy to create (I spent the majority of the evening fending off a cranky two year old and trying not to bang my head on the desk) but so much fun to answer! getting-to-know-you

Now it's your turn! I'm tagging my friends Natalie (Doses of Design), Alecia (Likes of Us), Sara (A Dose of Pretty), Ashley (One Fine Day) and YOU. Answer my questions, create a few of your own and spread the love!

Happy Friday! + weekly roundup

happy-friday-sarah-jessica-parker-vogue-j.crew-denim-paris-fashion-weekHappy Friday my lovelies! As another (loooooong) week draws to a close I'm doing my "it's Friday!" dance. Thank you all so much for your sweet advice on getting it all done (and letting go of the idea that I need to have it all together) on Wednesday. I'm still feeling so overwhelmed by everything on my plate and can already feel myself going into meltdown mode. With sponsored posts to work on this weekend, Spring cleaning (did you catch my checklist yesterday?) to tackle and a general sense of not quite cutting it as a momma/significant other/blogger/daughter/etc looming, I'm starting to see the merit in taking breaks and checking out. Ashley (a blogger I can't get enough of lately) shared this nugget of wisdom earlier in the week and I couldn't agree more: "We never noticed the beauty because we were too busy trying to create it.” Hopefully this weekend will include a little recharging and time to notice the beauty that's already happening! Here's what I've been loving around the web:

The Spring Clean

[show_ms_widget id="58068" image_id="90552" width="700" height="1780"] When it comes to Spring cleaning I'm a little bit of a slacker. I always go into the endeavor with good intentions (dust the ceiling fan blades, tidy the laundry room, reorganize my closet...) and always fall short which leaves me both down on myself and in need of some serious sangria. The trick, I've learned over the course of a few failed attempts at domestic perfection, is to break it up into manageable tasks. This year I created a comprehensive checklist and am spreading it out over the course of about a week (i.e. the kitchen on Monday, the office on Tuesday...). Hopefully this way there will be a) a few less tears b) an actual clean house when all is said and done and c) still a little sangria when it's all over because I mean...
