J.Crew, I Just Can't Quit You

and here's why...

I totally accept that as I grow and evolve, my sense of style is bound to change. In a few short years I've fallen for preppy looks and edgy styles alike and I'm finally starting to find my sartorial comfort zone of neutral colors, basic pieces and timeless cuts. Through it all I can count on my good friend (and my wallet's worst enemy... ha!) J.Crew to have what I'm looking for. Whether it be something trendy (I know you guys hate the birks but I'm hooked... I picked them up in white during our DC vacation) or the perfect white shirt, Jenna & Co. have got me covered. With a new bathing suit in tow (I finally bit the bullet and snagged this one on sale) and boyfriend jeans at the top of my list, I'm ready to take on the warmer months ahead.

We're finally home (for a bit)! Lorelai and I had the loveliest time in Washington DC and I can't wait to share all of the things we got into during our stay.  Things will go back to normal for a few days, with a quick break next week because we're headed out of town... again, and then it's gonna get crazy around here. I'm so excited to be working on a tiny refresh (with help from my girl Natalie), some awesome new projects and a ton of fabulous content. A little time away was just what I needed to fall in love with this corner of the internet all over again!

One of the first things we did in DC was visit the cherry blossoms. We happened to be blowing into town during the short window of time that they bloom and nothing says "Spring!" quite like streets littered with pretty pink petals. Lo was beside herself and even dressed for the occasion. She's at an age where she's able to choose her own outfits (with help) and this "pweety dress" is her all-time favorite.

p.s. I want to thank all of my super talented friends for filling in while I was away. It's such a blessing to make friends within this awesome community!

Try The Trend: Cropped

[show_ms_widget id="84720" image_id="133984" width="700" height="888"] Though I'm not brave enough to rock a bare midriff, I'm starting to warm up to the trend for Spring. Layered over the right top, the look can be a little "as if!" and a lot chic. This minimal cropped bralet by Acne Studios is just classic enough to add to my wardrobe without feeling like I'm investing in a passing trend (plus, it can be worn under looser tees for a little dash of badass) and you know I love to pair everything with the right boyfriend jeans. Finish the look with black heels (like this pair from Zara) and you're ready to try the trend!
