Heavy Metal

I have a confession: I'm obsessed with unconventional jewelry in a big way! Lately I've been channeling my inner wild child (circa my high school nose ring and a foray into lip piercing during my college years) with a little fake out. I've taken to tiny gold rings in unique places (today I'm sporting a faux septum) and interesting ear crawlers (I LOVE wearing this one). I see no end of my love for this trend in sight and it seems Into The Gloss agrees. I love that I can experiment with a few new accessories with no commitment!

Tempted? Try this set from Baublebar. Not into heavy metal? How about something else unexpected:

Rock'N'Roll Baby

A few weeks ago my team and I ventured to Atlanta hoping to try our hands at something a little edgier than our previous photo shoots. We connected with a gorgeous model, Jordan and stumbled upon a hauntingly beautiful abandoned mansion. The entire house has been bulldozed and all that remains in the space is the face of what was once a stunning home, held up by decaying wooden beams and industrial chain. The shoot that followed really allowed us stretch our creativity and explore the darker side of beauty...

Into The Wild

There's something so magical about setting out on random adventures and exploring the world around you...

There's something so magical about setting out on random adventures and exploring the world around you... Nothing makes me feel quite as alive as getting out of the house, abandoning my routine and stepping into the wild unknown with a good friend by my side. I'm so thankful to have a group of willing adventurers in my life! Ginny and I stumbled upon this ghost-town train depot the other day and just had to look around a little while the wind whipped at my favorite new cape from Boohoo.

Sometimes (for me at least) the outfit you're wearing plays a big role in your desire to explore. When clothes are unfussy and beautiful it sets the tone for your interaction with the world. I definitely feel the urge to have an adventure in some boots made for climbing and something cozy. Don't get me wrong, I love a good party dress as much as the next girl (have you seen these yet?!) but sometimes you just need something with a little more soul.
