In the same vein as yesterday's post (7 Updated Basics You Need Right Now), I'm keeping things super simple in this off-the-shoulder top and a-line mini. As temperatures rise well into the 90s, gone are the days of stylish layers and skinny jeans and instead I'm reaching for breezy pieces that don't do too much clinging.
How are you beating the heat?
Basics are the glue that hold everything in your closet together. A lot can be said about the perfect pair of jeans, a crisp white shirt or an ever-versatile tee. Admittedly, I've been a little too squeamish to dive wholeheartedly into the "capsule wardrobe" concept (even though I would LOVE to make it happen one day soon). Instead, I've taken to stocking my wardrobe full of basics and hoping for the best mix-n-match scenario that leans just far enough into the realm of cool.

Woohoo, it's Friday! This weekend couldn't be more welcome because Lorelai is finally homeward bound after a long three weeks in Asia. While I wrap up a few things at work today, I've got one eye on a weekend which is sure to be filled with extra long naps, gallery wall hanging and a bunch of snuggles. Since I'm finally staying in town for a while I've been able to dive back into a routine of pinning, tumbling and altogether day dreaming. Inspiring images are my life's blood.
