Whew! The weekend is finally here (am I always saying that?) and I would give anything to sleep in a few extra hours and spend time lazing around the house. My weekend usually begins on Sunday so I'm looking forward to starting a little R&R as soon as possible! With Fall Break in our rear-view mirror and a hectic work week behind me, I'm in need of some self indulgence. I've been dying to finish painting our house, get a much-needed hair trim and stalking a few new sartorial pieces for Fall. Hopefully there will be time for a little blogging and a big website overhaul as well. The Summer has been filled to the brim with work for Finery and I'm dying to make Hazel + Scout a big priority again.

Neutral tones and calming textures (f you have a West Elm nearby, I beg you, go sit in that chair!) are pretty much the only things keeping me sane. We've had a lot going on lately and whenever life gets overwhelming I have the urge to stay home and nest a little. I'm currently on the hunt for cool spruces for our space and comfortable essentials to take the guess-work out of dressing.

After years of refining my personal style and weeding out trends that just didn't work, I've finally nailed down my ideal "uniform". Give me the perfect pair of vintage 501s, a band t-shirt and some cool booties any day. Even though it's fun to mix it up every now and then, it's crucial to have an equation to fall back on when closet hatred (does that happen to anyone else?) or outfit FOMO strike.
