This weekend something miraculous happened... the winds picked up and the sticky heat of months past seemed to melt away. It's starting to feel like fall and although I'm sad to see our swimsuits packed into the back of drawers, I'm quite ready to say farewell to summer. Just short of six months ago I met two incredibly creative and talented women (Ginny from Sleepy Fox Photography and Aissa of Aislerchic) and we've been dying to come together and collaborate on a project ever since. Today marks the beginning of an exciting new feature for CATC, "Explore". We've curated the best spots to eat, shop and play in the South (and maybe even beyond) and are sharing them with you, one at a time!

Billy Reid is the epitome of edgy Southern style. With a foundation of well crafted garments and simple silhouettes, the men and women's designer definitely knows Americana. Our little team (and our resident mascot, Lo) visited the Billy Reid flagship store & studio in downtown Florence, Alabama and were instantly enamored with the classic styles and perfectly curated grassroots meet cool storefront (right down to the quirky portraiture wallpapering each fitting room). A major player in the four-city region referred to as The Shoals, Billy Reid is one of the best places to shop in Northern Alabama!

These weekly favorites are coming in a bit late today, hope you don't mind! A revelation hit me this week... the more I blog and am given amazing opportunities and projects to work on, the less time I actually have to prepare posts for this corner of the web. As I work on balance and time management I would love to hear your advice for fitting it all in!

At this point I have almost completely written off sunshine & hot weather. With pumpkin spice lattes finally making their comeback I'm ready to crunch a few leaves and layer up a little. Too soon? I foresee quite a few trips to the farmer's market (it's been too muggy to linger outside too much this summer) and that canvas tote would be just perfect for hauling around our fall goodies. Along with some house accents (what's a roundup without a few pieces of furniture?), a too cool for back-to-school sweater and a fresh new way to wear bobby pins, this list of favorites is ready for the change of seasons.
