Weekly Favorites featuring Shopbop

I'm nearing the end of my first year of a mostly neutral closet and I have to admit, I'm loving it. After some time spent experimenting with loud colors and too many patterns (often in the same look... yikes!) I decided that I feel most like myself when I keep things pretty natural. With so many ideas swirling in my head at all times (I blame my new-found love for styling and an internet-heavy lifestyle), I've found that I like things in my home and on my body to be calm and require minimal thought. Here's to another year (and many more wishlists) filled with white, brown, grey & black!

p.s. It's almost time for two of the best shopping days of the year, Black Friday & Cyber Monday! While some retailers are waiting around to debut their savings, Shopbop is offering deals a little early. Their biggest sale of the year is finally here and it lasts all week long (click here for the exclusive discount code or use GOBIG14 at checkout). Eying something big (like that gorgeous A.P.C. satchel)? Go in with a friend or two to get the most mileage out of the discount!

Spend $250= 15% off
Spend $500= 20% off
Spend $1000 = 25% off

p.p.s. I am participating in an ongoing partnership with Shopbop, however, all opinions and words are my own. It is my policy to only select goods and companies that I truly believe in and wish to share with you. Thank you for supporting the brands that make Chelsea & The City possible.

Thanksgiving Playlist

There are few times that call for background music quite like the Thanksgiving holiday does. Peeling potatoes, setting tables and relaxing with friends just sound better with a few choice musical notes living in out ears. Last year I created a Thanksgiving playlist bursting with crooners (listen here for a super festive holiday) but this year we're channeling an indie vibe.

Happy Friday! + weekly roundup

Happy Friday friends! This past week was incredible (and incredibly busy). The first few days were spent prepping for the most amazing wedding shoot for Daughters of Simone (more on that later), celebrating Friendsgiving with our Monday Night crew and surprising Sleepy Fox Photography with a fun birthday picnic. Yesterday I ventured to the most gorgeous 1890's farmhouse for one of the bridal fashion shoots we've been planning for months and I couldn't be more creatively satisfied or exhausted! I'm not entirely out of the woods yet (I've got plans to create a HUGE wall weaving this weekend, a visit from my sister, Thanksgiving and the second bridal shoot next week) but I can almost see a little rest on the horizon. Even though it's all a blur of holiday madness, engagement excitement and career changes right now, I am so thankful for all of the ways that my life has changed this year!

Here's what I enjoyed reading this week:

Solange Knowles' beautiful wedding portraits via Vogue
three Thanksgiving tablescapes by Smitten Studio
a cool career profile of Madewell's Alex Yeske
the classiest Southern holiday (and hostess tips) from Hanna Seabrook
