Happy Friday! + weekly roundup

Happy Friday friends! Better late than never, right? This week was a whirlwind and I have a feeling they're all going to feel this way now that little Lo has started school. It's been a blur of chauffeuring, wedding plans and bumps in the road (more on that later...) but this life is beautiful and I'm so thankful for everything happening right now.

This weekend I'm wishing you lots of zzz's (I know I need a few extra hours in bed) and time to catch up on my favorite links:

the ultimate inspiration, Hannah Henderson, shares her life via Friends of Dawn
a gorgeous summer shoot by Maria Camilla
Mark and Kaihla's fun campsite wedding
a dreamy vintage-inspired lookbook from Mate
the sweetest west coast family
& a romantic anniversary session on Green Wedding Shoes

FP Me: The Golden Hour

Before this year I never realized just how much I was moved and ruled by the sun. In seasons past I've found sparks of inspiration no matter the frequency of clear skies but for whatever reason, this summer I am tethered to that ever-illusive golden hour. The haze of gilded light that floods hopeful eyes and washes over adventurous hearts has such influence, doesn't it?

A while back I met up with Free People's Birmingham team (talk about inspiring!) for a fun day of shooting. We wandered around Jones Valley Teaching Farm, made good use of the brand's bohemian summer/fall transition pieces and soaked up the sunshine. The day was magic and I loved every golden moment!

p.s. I had a blast hanging out with the lovely Kirby Joanna & Quincy Smith!

Urban Farm Dinner Party with Free People Birmingham

photos by Dawn Cassizzi

A couple of weeks ago I was able to hang with Free People at the coolest urban farm in the middle of Birmingham's downtown district. The night was nothing short of magic and I'm so thankful for every fun second of this summer gathering!

Jones Valley Teaching Farm is right in the heart of Birmingham and plays home to chickens, bees and so many beautiful types of flora, delicious vegetables and fruit. When they're not organizing dreamy evenings filled to the brim with yummy food (The Knife Party made the most amazing vegetarian meal with produce right from the property!), new friends and bohemian vibes, the farm works with inner city school kids teaching sustainability and healthy living. We visited the location a few days before the dinner (stay tuned for more from that project!) and it was so fun to see it transformed into the perfect setting for a summer soiree.

I have been obsessed with Free People's brand and outlook for the longest time and am so grateful to be a part of the unique community they're creating of boho style lovers, like-minded artists and all around amazing humans.
