Bedroom Inspiration

Our bedroom is the place we spend the most time (relaxing, watching Project Runway marathons, sleeping, building pillow forts...) but somehow it's always the last room we get around to decorating. That probably comes from it being the only room company doesn't have to see when they pop over unexpectedly but it's in need of some new vibes to keep me sane.

In this house we have a bit more room in our master bedroom than we've had before and I'm stoked to make it our own! Bay windows and french doors that lead out to the backyard, a new mid-century bed (since ours fell apart during the move) and a duvet cover I've been stalking for months have all gotten me ready to tackle the task.

On the docket? Changing the shade of our walls to white (it might against the wishes of our landlord but fresh white paint is worth forfeiting our security deposit), creative storage solutions, spray painting all of our drawer pulls brass, ditching a few pieces of furniture (hello Craigslist!) in favor of pieces that better reflect our style and getting art up on the walls. Let's do this!

Pinspiration + Weekend Links

Happy weekend sweet friends! This particular roundup is a little later than I would have liked but better delayed than never, right? As I continue to gear up for big projects and exotic travels (I have so many secrets that I can't wait to share!), the day to day minutia seems to be falling by the wayside a bit. I always let the little things slip when I'm dreaming of bigger and better, don't you?

This weekend I'm catching up on clerical work (so many emails!) and down time. We built a cardboard fort this week and I have no doubt that Lorelai with spend the majority of her Saturday & Sunday hiding away leaving us a bit of time to reconnect and continue to settle into our new digs. What are you getting into this weekend?

11 Coffee Tables For A Chic Living Room

We're finally settling into our new digs and I'm realizing that a lot of the pieces we've been toting from apartment to apartment don't quite fit into the space that we have now. After updating our sofa (see a few of our living room updates here) to something a little more sophisticated, I'm thinking we need a new coffee table to freshen up our living room a bit more. The feng shui issue we're dealing with? An open concept living/dining room without a ton of width and two big pieces of furniture (couch and media storage) flanking whichever option we go with. For this reason, I think something on the lighter/smaller side is just the ticket!

When it comes to online shopping, the options are endless! Here are my questions for you:

Do we go with something round to break up all of the rectangular furniture we already own?
Something glass to give the illusion of more space?
A thin bench (styled with a sheepskin and trays for storing remotes/magazines) for more walking room?
Or something a bit funky to make a statement?

Help friends!
